I studied Cultural and Gender Studies, and Fine Arts in Berlin and Moscow, and was trained as an aerialist and performer by Mike Wright, Orit Nevo, Mimbre, Gabriel Chame, Elias Cohen and Minako Seki. In my research I join various performance styles to forge my own genre between contemporary circus and physical theater: narrative circus. My personal style is largely influenced by Czech experimental theater and its strong tradition of object theater, as well as by Moscow Conceptualism. My themes I derive from my subjective view of the world and my feminist background.

I took part in some aspects of The Magdalena Project many years ago when I was a student at darlington College of Arts (Theatre 1983>1987) between then and during my time as Head of Theatre at Dartington (1997>2003) I visited or hosted members of the project on several occasions. But not as many as I could have and my connection faltered when I changed direction away from making theatre. Over the last 5 years I have returned to theatre making mostly in the SW region of the UK and with an organisation called Dreadnought South West and we are starting to tour nationally in 2018.

I run a small scale touring theatre company called: Vital Xposure. I'm a playwright working with extraordinary stories from people in the periphery of our communities. 'Pig Tales' was based on the story of a female child raised as a boy - under the scrutiny of the Mental Health system and the Catholic church. The piece toured for six years. 'Crossings' was a commission for Liverpool's DaDa festival - an unashamedly feminist piece looking at sexual slavery, identity and migration.
