The International Womyn‘s Theatre Festival (IWTF) 2020 is planned as a festival for an interested audience and at the same time as a forum for womyn in theatre. Of course, this year with a global pandemic has brought us additional challenges in our work and our lives as womyn and artists. And yet, dear fellow feminists and readers, the time has come: The 4th International Womyn‘s Theatre Festival is taking place! We have not given up on putting this program on its feet and have even expanded it by live streaming, which will reach those of us who unfortunately cannot be physically present this year. We want to inspire and encourage and therefore call upon you not to give up the feminist debate even in the current situation, but to shape it artistically and go through it.

This is why womyn theatre makers and performers will also be present on the premises of protagon e.V. for 4 days this year, presenting their work and positions, discussing and leading workshops and exchanging ideas with the audience, invited active womyn from science, art and culture – and with you!

The 4th IWTF focuses on the topic „Collective Empowerment across Borders“ and creates our common space: a space for mutual encouragement, to discover geopolitical, gender-socialized and age-related boundaries within us and to go beyond them – artistically researching and creatively implementing what is moving (within) us.

Covid-19 safety precautions

Due to the pandemic regulations, only a limited number of visitors can stay on site at the same time. The association protagon e.V. regulates the entrance and exit. Distance markings and signs point out the protective measures and call for everyone to implement them. The International Womyn‘s Theatre Festival is an event with fixed seating in several spots on the site. If one area is full, we ask the visitors to take a seat in another area. There are NO STANDING SITES during the performances.

Das IFTF 2020 soll den Charakter eines Festivals für ein interessiertes Publikum haben und gleichzeitig ein Treffpunkt für Frauen* im Theater sein. Natürlich brachte uns dieses Jahr mit einer globalen Pandemie zusätzliche Herausforderungen in unserer Arbeit und unseren Leben als Frauen* und Künstler*innen. Und dennoch ist es jetzt so weit, liebe Mitstreiter*innen und Leser*innen: Das 4. Internationale Frauen*Theater-Festival findet statt! Denn: Wir haben nicht aufgegeben, dieses Programm auf die Beine zu stellen – und es sogar durch ein Livestreaming erweitert, das auch die unter uns erreichen wird, die in diesem Jahr leider nicht physisch dabei sein können. Wir wollen inspirieren und ermutigen und fordern daher dazu auf, die feministische Auseinandersetzung auch in der jetzigen Situation nicht aufzugeben, sondern sie künstlerisch zu gestalten und zu durchleben.

Deswegen sind auch in diesem Jahr Theatermacher*innen und Performer*innen an 4 Tagen auf dem Gelände von protagon e.V. präsent, stellen ihre Arbeit und ihre Posi-
tionen dar, diskutieren und leiten Workshops und sind im Austausch mit dem Publikum, geladenen aktiven Frauen* aus Wissenschaft, Kunst und Kultur – und mit euch!

Denn beim 4. IFTF steht das Thema „Collective Empowerment Across Borders“ im Zentrum und kreiert unseren gemeinsamen Raum: einen Freiraum zur gegenseitigen Bestärkung, geopolitische, geschlechtssozialisierte und altersbezogene Grenzen in uns aufzuspüren und über sie hinauszugehen – künstlerisch forschend und kreativ umsetzend was (uns) bewegt.

Und dazu seid ihr alle herzlich willkommen!

Covid-19 Schutz-Maßnahmen

Aufgrund der Pandemieregelungen ist die Anzahl der Besucher*innen, die sich zeitgleich auf dem Gelände aufhalten kann, limitiert. Der Verein protagon e.V. regelt den Ein- und Ausgang. Abstandsmarkierungen und Hinweise machen auf die Einhaltung entsprechender Maßnahmen aufmerksam. Das Internationale Frauen*Theater-Festival ist eine Veranstaltung mit festen Sitzplätzen in mehreren Bereichen auf dem Gelände. Wenn ein Bereich voll ist, bitten wir die Besucher*innen, in einem anderen Bereich Platz zu nehmen. Es gibt bei den Aufführungen KEINE STEHPLÄTZE.
