WHIRLNG- An essay in movement
HLEB TEATAR
WHIRLING
Created as an “essay in movement’ with scenes interlaced with footnotes, this dynamic, interactive and lively performance tells the story of an actors/dancers/director’s journey into the world of whirling.
Whirling as a skill has been developed, researched, and performed in many ways by Sanja Krsmanović Tasić for 32 years.
It started as a skill necessary for a scene in a performance to become a spiritual and artistic journey towards enlightenment and health.
The last part of the “essay in movement” dwells in the world of the origin of the form, the Sufi Dervish world of Mevlana Rumi, unveiling his poetry and life.
