Notes/documentation for site editors/users

The home page will normally display the next 3 Magdalena events in the three blocks. When there are less than 3 upcoming Magdalena events, another event or news item can be displayed by going to the publishing options of that news or event item, and selecting "Promoted to front page".

Note that this can only be done with Magdalena events or any news item. For example, if we want to promote donations, or a book, for example, then we need to create either a news item or a Magdalena event specifically for that, and promote it to the front page.

It will also display according to the language, so it needs to be promoted for each language in order to appear.

The logo image, title and subheading will display for news items. For events, the logo image, title, venue and date display.

Links for edit pages that are not there on the actual page:

• home page text: /en/node/82/edit
• news: /en/node/590/edit

When a new language is added, to get the translated home page text to appear on the new language's home page:

• Go to the views 'Advanced' panel (the right most).
• There you find the 'Contextual filters' and 'Content: Nid' underneath. This means all of the filtering that is done within the view is only applied to the node IDs supplied there.
• Add your new translation's NID there.

• Submitting events: there is one event type; only magnetics can make an event be a Magdalena event; when an event is promoted to Magdalena event, it will appear on the home page & on the events page - NOTE: you must create a spanish version of the magdalena event page as well, even if it is in english, otherwise it will not appear on the home page & events page. all events appear in the calendar.
   
• event logo: this image appears on the home page and events page, as well as on the actual event page; it will be cropped to 220px width by 110px if it is not already that size. For Magdalena events, please create an image of the correct size in order to get the best possible composition, and avoid images with text. If you must use an image with text in it, avoid cropping it in such a way that the text is partially visible - either include or exclude it all.

• images: allowed formats, min-max size, max file size
   
• multiple image upload and import: first upload the images via FTP to the default/upload directory; then go to Content Management > Image Import and select the images to import. Give them titles & descriptions, and assign to an imge gallery if required. Then import.
   
• image galleries: ONLY create image galleries when you want a slideshow of images to appear on a particular page. header images (for the main site banner, open page banner or magdalena australia banner) should be uploaded as that specific CONTENT TYPE rather than as an image.

• the order of image galleries on the gallery page can be manually adjusted here: /en/admin/content/taxonomy/1

• header banner images: crop to 122 x 125 px and upload as a header image; you do not need to adjust the colour as the colour overlay is applied automatically.

• making 2nd level menus stay visible on 3rd level pages: you have to add it to the primary menu as 3rd level element, and to hide it then go to menu administration and uncheck "enabled" for that menu entry.

The following roles are available for registered users of the site:

• authenticated user: can have a profile, search others' profiles, post events & news, participate in chats.
• blogger: can create, edit & delete their own blog
• editor: can edit most content on the site (but not menus or anything tricky)
• translator: can create and edit translations
• organiser: can administer groups
• magnetic: not-quite super admin powers, but can do most things.

module Pathologic repairs links that worked on the test site and should also work on the live site: you can enter /sites/default/files/my_file.pdf or sites/default/files/my_file.pdf or /sites/default/files/my_file.pdf, all three work. once moved to the real domain the old domain (http://playground151.servus.at) needs to be added here and here in the "Also considered local" field

Ahora que hemos inaugurado la nueva pagina de internet del Magdalena Project, estamos pidiendo a la gente que se registren en la nueva pagina y que envien informacion directamente a esta nueva pagina en forma de noticias y anuncios de eventos, en vez de enviarlos a esta lista.

Puedes registrarte en la nueva pagina aqui:

una vez que ha sido aprobada tu resgistracion, entonces puedes entrar en la pagina y hacer cosas como:

- editar y poner al dia tu perfil (a traves del enlace " my profile " (mi perfil))
- seleccionar que notificaciones por quieres recibir por correo electronic y con que frecuencia (tambien a traves del enlace "My Profile", seguido de "notifications" (notificaciones)))
- enviar contenido (a traves del enlace "create content" (crear contenido))
- Ver el perfil de otros miembros (a traves del enlace "network" (red) y despues "members" (miembros))
- enviar correos a otro miembro (a traves del enlace "contact"(contactar) en la pagina del perfil)
- aprender mas sobre como usar esta pagina (a traves del enlace "how to use this site" (como usar esta pagina)
