Voice Performance and Choreographic Theatre
This international workshop explores the synthesis of vocal expression, singing, acting and dance/movement.
Voice performance is based on two complementary principles: technical finesse and expressive risk. It seeks to highlight personal genius - musicality and character - as well as the pertinence (or impertinence) of what one has to say, whether through speech, gesture, song, image, scream, silence, or their synthesis in choreographic theater.
What counts above all is artistic open-mindedness. It is much more a question of personality, listening skills and expressive risk-taking than of technical know-how (musical, actoral and/or dance skills - all of which are very welcome).
It takes the exploration and training of VOCAL EXPRESSION after Roy Hart into performance and concerting modes, including music.
