I'm an actress in Romania, my age is 25, studying in my PhD thesis the influence of Japanese Theatre upon European dramatic traditions, I'm an assistant professor in The National University of Theatre and Cinematography of Bucharest, and also working as an actress for Odeon Theatre and Bulandra Theatre, in Bucharest, where I have worked with renowned theatre directors. I attended Odin Week 2011, where Julia Varley introduced us the network of Magdalena Project. I feel that Romania's theatre has a wonderful history and a solid tradition amongst European theatres, but is now growing more and more isolated and unaware of other artistic milieus. Also, the constant crisis and downfalls in our economy and politics have created a rigid artistic context, in which young actors have no place and in which me, as an actress, are forced to work mostly with the same groups, that have no new members or any fresh artistic ,,material". This is why I feel it is essential for me to be able to follow actresses' works in other countries - to gain strength, inspiration and information in order to help the broadening of Romania's artistic horizons (especially for young theatre graduates).
