Finn is an award-winning playwright, storyteller, director and dramaturg.
Her works are about, for, and are made with women.
A 2012 graduate from NIDA’s Graduate Diploma of Dramatic Arts (Playwriting), her work has been presented nationally; at The Women in Theatre and Screen's Festival Fatale (Selkie 2016, dir. Nicola Jam), The World Theatre Festival (‘The Room’ 2012), National Science Week (Stellar 2010), ATYP (The Voices Project 2010, dir: Lachlan Philpott), Metro Arts (‘Envelope’ 2013, dir: Tim Wynn), JUTE theatre and Mudlark Theatre Company (‘Dancing Back Home’ 2010), Corrugated Iron, the National Young Writers’ Festival (2007), Wordstorm (2008), 2High (‘Can You Keep A Secret’ 2011), Tease Festival (‘The Left Hand’ and ‘Story Time’ 2009, ‘Scary Time’ 2010), the Nightwords festival at the Sydney Opera House (Team Slam 2008), the State Library of QLD (Better Half 2011, dir: Lachlan Philpott), THAT Production Company (When Leaving Earth Please Turn Out The Lights 2014), the Darwin, Sydney and Melbourne Fringe Festivals, Bondi Feast and The Blue Room Theatre (Selkie 2016, dir: Joe Lui).
Recent works include award co-writing the award winning ‘You Know We Belong Together’ for DADAA, Black Swan Theatre Company and the Perth Festival 2018, remounted at Black Swan Theatre Company 2019. ‘Text Roulette’, which has had two seasons in Perth and one in Berlin. 'Medusa' which she wrote as part of the Black Swan Theatre Company's emerging writers group, and premiered at The Blue Room Theatre, award winning ‘Interrupting a Crisis' which she directed and dramaturged for Ribs at The Blue Room Theatre, Bondi Feast, Subiaco Arts Festival and Don Russell Performing Arts Centre. ’50 Marias’, co-commissioned by The Blue Room Theatre and the Centre for Stories, She produced and co-wrote with Scott Sandwich award-nominated 'Tamagotchi Reset and Other Doomsdays' at The Blue Room (developed at Bundanon Trust with support from JUTE Theatre Company), performed and co-wrote award-nominated 'The Epic' with Tom Hogan, which has returned from a national tour with ArtsOnTour, and she was commissioned to write 'The Election' as part of 'Petite Fours', a WAAPA, Playwriting Australia and Minderoo Foundation co-commission. She wrote ‘Selkie’, which has had three very different performances at Curtin University, The Blue Room Theatre and WITS Festival Fatale. She is currently under commission with Terrapin Puppet Theatre.
She has dramaturged for theatre, dance, circus and contemporary performance work, including Hypatia (The Open Lid Ensemble & The Blue Room Theatre, 2017), The Martyrdom of Hypatia and the Destruction of the Great Library of Alexandria for writer and director Ross Vegas, Salon (dir: Timothy Brown) for the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, Apples and Eve (dir: Lucas Jervies) for Expressions Dance Company, In My Steps (writer: Future Destin Fidel, Dir Timothy Wynn) for THAT Production Company and other independent collectives.
As a former co-Artistic Director of Crack Theatre Festival (part of This is Not Art), she also supports and champions emerging and experimental performance artists.
She most recently has worked with with media arts renegades pvi collective as their Program Coordinator, and has dramaturged for KISS club, performed in and made props for blackmarket (PIAF 2017), and performed in resist Prague Quadrennial and the Disrupted Festival of Ideas.
