Helen Mary Moran
Primary tabs
Helen trained as an actor at the Drama Studio, Sydney, 1982 – 84. Her first professional theatre work in New Zealand was with Mervyn Thompson and she performed in three of his plays over 1989 and 90. Since then her work in devising and physical theatre with Bert van Dijk was particularly inspiring and formative and she is drawing on this work in the direction of EARTHQUAKES AND BUTTERFLIES. Helen has devised, produced and toured 3 solo shows, the last of which, THE BONE KEEPER’S STORY, she co-wrote with Kathleen Gallagher. Helen’s directorial work includes JESUS MY BOY and SCARAMOUCHE JONES with Martin Howells and many youth theatre productions. She sees EARTHQUAKES AND BUTTERFLIES as a community theatre event, a 7th anniversary ritual, which invites us to reflect on the transformation of our lives, our city and ourselves.I
