Nela H. Kornetová is an independent performance maker and performer based in Norway. She works with themes that the audience can relate to instinctively, aiming to create atmospheric performances that explore the borderlines of live art forms using the body, visuals and sound. After graduation at JAMU (CZ, 2010) and Norwegian Theatre Academy (NOR, 2013), she was awarded DanceWEB 2014 scholarship (Impulstanz, Vienna) and between 2020 – 2022 the Workstipend for young and newly established artists (Arbeidsstipend for yngre / nyetablerte kunstnarar) in Norway. She had received Thalia Award for the best actor in Alternatice theatre in 2022 and the Theatre News Critics Award (Cena Divadelních Novin) in 2020 for a performance Badman by T.I.T.S.
As a member and artistic leader of independent group T.I.T.S. she initiated, created, performed and produced a black box specific performance about the anticipation of apocalypse as a metaphor for anxiety “Trumpets in the Sky”(2013), a multimedia performance about (porno)media and our desires “My own private picture”(2015), an audiovisual dance performance about power structures and fascination with violence “Forced Beauty”(2016), a physical operetta about the human sense of possessing „Mine“ (2017), an audiovisual physical performance about fictional religious community praising busy-ness “Cult of Busy” (2018), an audiovisual performative installation dealing with uncertainty and lack of predictability in our lives “un:tit:led” (2018) and an audiovisual performance about a search for love&peace with deadly disease “Tumor: carcinogenic romance” (2019), an audiovisual physical performance “Badman” (2020) about masculinity and its power, reclaimed and twisted by a single female performer and a hypnotic dance performance “Dreamers” dealing with digestion of reality in dreams. The performances toured around Norway, Denmark, Italy, Germany, France, Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Czechia, and South Korea.
